Regulations

The latest on proposed and final regulations, agenda for upcoming Environmental Quality Board meeting and Independent Regulatory Review Commission activity.

Environmental Quality Board regulations dealing with several issues were approved by the IRRC this week --

#7-383: Safe Drinking Water, Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts: This final rulemaking updates or clarifies several requirements concerning disinfectants, disinfection byproducts (DBPs) and surface water treatment, adds three requirements concerning DBP monitoring, increased monitoring criteria and surface water turbidity reporting and corrects minor typographical errors throughout Chapter 109. See June EQB meeting.

#7-387: Radiological Health Amendments: The primary purpose of the final rulemaking is to correct cross references that were rendered inaccurate by changes made in previous rulemakings where the sections linked by reference were not open to amendment. The regulations are also being generally updated and clarified as necessary. See April EQB meeting.

The IRRC will consider the Department of Agriculture’s final regulations on Application of Soil and Groundwater Contaminated with Agricultural Chemicals to Agricultural Lands authorized by the Land Recycling Act.
