Video Blog Feature - Environmental Issues Forum Hears Update On Emerging Water Pollutants

TheJoint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committeeheld an Environmental Issues Forum this week featuring a presentation on emerging water pollutants like pharmaceuticals. The first speaker was Dr. J. Kent Crawford, Water Quality Specialist for the Pennsylvania Science Center with the U.S. Geologic Survey. He updated the Committee on research and sampling programs undertaken by U.S.G.S. to identify emerging water pollutants. Arianna Proctor, from the Department of Environmental Protection, gave an overview of her agency's efforts to prevent pharmaceuticals and other substances from getting in wastewater and waste streams.
