House Tourism Committee Releases Report on Developing Lodging Facilities In State Parks

The House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee this week released a reportpursuant toHouse Resolution 164(Haluska-D-Cambria) dealing with the developing of lodges in Pennsylvania's State Parks.

The reportrecommended the Committee conduct more research into the development of lodging facilities in state, visit lodging facilities in Ohio and other states, conduct an updated statewide survey to determine public opinion on the issue and visit Bald Eagle State Park in Centre County during the construction ofDCNR's Nature Inn project.

The report contains background information on lodging now in State Parks, a survey of lodge facilities in other states and an overview of the Nature Inn project.

Rep. Thomas Tangretti (D-Westmoreland) serves as Majority Chair of the Committee and Rep. Jerry Nailor (R-Cumberland) serves as Minority Chair.
