Natural Gas Utilities, Suppliers And Experts Brief PUC On Reliability For Winter

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission this week held its annual Winter Reliability Assessment meeting, which provides a snapshot of various conditions that may affect natural gas supply, price and service reliability for the upcoming winter. AnEnergy Association of Pennsylvaniarepresentative said member natural gas companies across the state are well-prepared to accommodate the conditions forecasted in their winter season planning. AUGI Energy Servicesrepresentative said propane supply and transportation are positioned for normal weather patterns and demand. Pennsylvania One Call Systemofficials presented information on the impact that disrupting natural gas lines can have on service and reliability. TheDepartment of Public Welfarepresented the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program plans for assisting Pennsylvania consumers this winter. Opening day for consumers to apply for LIHEAP grants is November 3 and the program will close on March 31. Also providing comments was theTexas Eastern Interstate Pipeline Company.
