Managing Stormwater Locally Workshop October 29 In Harrisburg

Learn how to better manage local stormwater problems at a workshop for local officials and interested citizens on October 29 at the C. Tedd Lick Wildwood Conference Center atHarrisburg Area Community College.

Participants will learn about stormwater management planning and how it is helping communities manage nonpoint source pollution and improve the quality of their water resources. Workshop topics will include: treating stormwater as a resource, understanding the regulatory framework, developing stormwater plans and addressing legal and financial challenges.

The workshop includes a plenary session and concurrent sessions in the morning and options for field trips or an informal dialogue session in the afternoon. The workshop partners have secured speakers representing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Environmental Protection, local municipal governments, nonprofits and other stormwater experts.

The workshop is being sponsored by: New Baldwin Corridor, Coalition Paxton Creek Watershed and Education Association, Dauphin County Conservation District, Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, Susquehanna River Basin Commission and the Dauphin County Planning Commission.

The workshop fee is $25 which includes all workshop materials, lunch and transportation for field trips.
