ClearWater Conservancy Needs Volunteers for Stream Buffer Planting In Centre County

The ClearWater Conservancy and its partners will hold two stream buffer planting events on October 25 at the Penn State Sheep Farm and on October 30 along Spring Creek near Fisherman's Paradise.

The Sheep Farm event is a joint project ofPenn State University, Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Fish and Boat Commission, Department of Environmental Protection, University Area Joint Authority, the Boy Scouts of America/Eagle Scout program, and ClearWater Conservancy.

Volunteers will be planting 125 hardwood trees in pre-excavated holes that will enhance the stream buffer along Spring Creek at the Penn State Sheep Farm.

The Spring Creek project is a partnership with theFish and Boat Commission, Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and ClearWater Conservancy. Volunteers will be planting 120 trees hardwood trees in pre-augured holes and 80 shrubs to enhance the stream buffer along Spring Creek between Fisherman's Paradise and SR550.

Dress appropriately and please bring a shovel if you have one, water, a snack. The projects starts at 8:00 a.m.
