Western PA Conservancy Watershed Mini Grant Program Is Now Accepting Proposals
|
Through funding from Dominion, Western PA Conservancy announced it is now accepting applications for its Watershed Mini Grant Program in 38 western and central Pennsylvania counties. Applications are due December 19. Grassroots watershed organizations do remarkable work with limited financial resources and members who are largely volunteers. Collectively, these groups play a pivotal role in improving Western Pennsylvania's water resources. Much of WPC's success in improving water quality throughout our region is the result of its partnerships with these organizations. The grants will award financial support to watershed organizations in Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Centre, Chester, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Cumberland, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Juniata, Lancaster, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Mifflin, Potter, Somerset, Tioga, Venango, Warren, Washington, Westmoreland, and York counties. Since many watershed organizations have little to no full-time staff, the grant application process is simple and streamlined. The grants can be used to cover operating costs (up to $1,000) or restoration projects and/or organizational promotion and outreach (up to $2,500).
