The Chesapeake Bay ecosystem will be significantly impacted by climate change during the next century, according to a new, independent report released by the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee last week.

Climate Change and the Chesapeake Bay: State-of-the-Science Review and Recommendations details the potential consequences of climate change for the Chesapeake Bay over the next 100 years and explains the need to adapt restoration and resource management to account for the environmental changes.

The report was written by the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee, a group of prominent scientists and other experts who provide guidance on measures to restore and protect the nation’s largest estuary and its 64,000-square mile watershed.

The report is available online.
