DEP Recognizes Easton Suburban Water Authority for Efforts in Safe Drinking Water Program

The Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania section of the American Water Works Association this week honored the Easton Suburban Water Authority for successfully completing Phase III in the national Partnership for Safe Water Program.

 

Phase III is a self-assessment of past efforts at optimizing filtration plant operations beyond compliance with DEP and EPA Safe Drinking Water Act standards. In addition, the self-assessment process helps the organization examine and improve the operation and administration of the water treatment plant.

 

Easton Suburban Water Authority serves approximately 30,000 customers in the City of Easton, the townships of Palmer, Forks, Bethlehem, Williams and Lower Nazareth, and the boroughs of Wilson, West Easton and Glendon. The authority's water filtration plant is located in Easton and can produce up to 10 million gallons of drinking water per day from the Delaware River.
