The 2009 Pennsylvania Farm Show will get underway in Harrisburg on January 10 and will last until the 17th. Traditionally, the Farm Show is known for its bad weather and for its food court.

The highlight of the opening of the Farm Show is the unveiling of the butter sculpture, which this year involved 900 pounds of butter (the real kind) donated by Land O'Lakes.
Sculptor Jim Victor of Conshohocken created a scene showing a National Guard soldier leaving his family on the farm to serve his state and country.

At the conclusion of the Farm Show, the butter will be converted into biodiesel at Lake Erie Biofuels.
