Chester County Offers Free Certified Master Composting Classes In March
The Chester County Board of Commissioners, through the Chester County Solid Waste Authority, is now offering free Certified Master Composting Classes at three convenient locations during March.
 
Attendance each week and 6 hours of volunteer time is required to become certified. Identical classes are held at each location. All classes begin at 7:00 p.m.
 
The first set of classes will be heldat theChester County Solid Waste Authority office at 7224 Division Highway, Narvon, Pa. March 9, 16 and 23, with a snow date of March 30.
 
The second set of classes will be held at theChester County Government Services Center – Room 170,601 Westtown Road, West Chester, Pa on March 3, 10, 17 with a snow date of March 24.
The final set of classes will be held at theOwen J. Roberts Middle School,981 Ridge Road, Pottstown, Pa on March 11, 18, 25 with a snow date of April 1.
 
Trainees will learn how to compost, how to construct various compost bins, how to grasscycle, leafcycle and how to reduce food waste by vermi-composting. The Chester County Solid Waste Authority will provide training, materials, volunteer opportunities and support.
