DEP Seeks Input to Update Forest Buffer Toolkit

The Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Office of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, is updating the Pennsylvania Stream ReLeaf Forest Buffer Toolkit.

 

Originally written in 2000 and updated in 2004, the primary focus of the updated toolkit will be to describe state-of-the-art information specific to Pennsylvania on: streamside Forest Site Planning, buffer Establishment,Buffer Maintenance and Protection, native Riparian Tree/Shrub Plant Lists, relevant Field Guides and Other References and engaging Community Volunteers.

 

The toolkit is intended to serve as a general resource for watershed organizations, county conservation districts, school districts, land managers and government agencies.

 

The current toolkit is available online.
