Fish & Boat Commission Sets 8 Public Meetings Inviting Comments On Programs
|
The Fish and Boat Commission will be travelling across the state during the next two months, hosting a series of public meetings to update local communities about the agency’s work while also hearing directly from participants about sporting issues affecting them.
“The meetings will provide the public an opportunity to meet commissioners and staff and to hear firsthand about the multiple activities we undertake in order to meet our responsibilities and fulfill our mission,” said Doug Austen, PFBC executive director. “There are a lot of projects we do that I believe the public isn’t aware of. We want to tell them about how these projects enhance fishing and boating opportunities and how they protect and conserve our aquatic resources.
“At the same time, the meetings will also allow us to meet our customers, the anglers and boaters who use our services and the resources every day,” Austen said. “It’s important that we hear from them.” A total of eight evening meetings will be held, one in each of the commissioner districts. The meetings will be held--
-- February 11 - York Springs Fire Company, 312 Main St., York;
-- February 12 - Montgomery County Community College, 101 College Dr., Pottstown;
