House (March 9): House Bill 92 (Staback-D-Schuylkill) authorizing up to a $1 fee on purchasers of hunting licenses and stamps through the automated licensing system.

Senate (March 9): Senate Resolution 20 (Pippy-R-Allegheny) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to determine the impact of state tax credit programs.

House: the House Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy holds a hearing on Carbon Sequestration in King of Prussia; the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee meets with Penn State Cooperative Extension on agriculture and environmental issues relating to Marcellus Shale gas drilling.

Senate: theConsumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee holds a hearing on the PUC budget request; the Game and Fisheries Committee holds a meeting to hear a presentation of the Game Commission annual report.

Storage Tanks: House Bill 681 (Swanger-R-Lebanon) Increasing eligible claim amounts for claims made before December 13, 2001.

Guaranteed Energy Savings: House Bill 687 (Dermody-D-Allegheny) making changes to the guaranteed energy savings contracts program.

School Building Standards: House Bill 689 (Drucker-D-Montgomery) establishing energy efficiency standards for public school buildings and providing a higher reimbursement.

Flood Maps: House Bill 696 (Hanna-D-Centre) requiring the updating of floodplain maps every 10 years.

Electronics Recycling: House Bill 708 (Ross-R-Chester) establishing an electronics recycling program.

Land Banks: House Bill 712 (J.Taylor-D-Philadelphia) providing for the creation of land banks for the conversion of vacant or tax-delinquent properties.

Lifeguards: House Bill 719 (Helm-R-Dauphin) requiring the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to employ lifeguards at public beach areas within State Parks.

Flood Property Purchases: House Bill 744 (Caltagirone-D-Berks) establishing the Flood Hazard Mitigation Act authorizing local governments to acquire property in flood areas.

Open Space Bond: House Bill 775 (Petri-R-Bucks) authorizing a $150 million bond for open space preservation.

Disaster Assistance: House Bill 776 (Petri-R-Bucks) providing for a Small Disaster Assistance Fund.

Energy Office: House Bill 786 (George-D-Clearfield) establishing a State Energy Office in the Department of Environmental Protection.

Swatara River: House Resolution 100 (Swanger-R-Lebanon) urging the U.S. Geological Survey to officially change the name of Swatara Creek to the Swatara River.

Farmland Preservation/Gas Drilling: Senate Bill 298 (Yaw-R-Bradford) allowing the split off of farmland preserved under the Clean and Green program that is leased for gas drilling.

Marcellus Shale Lease Revenue: Senate Bill 490 (M.White-R-Venango) appropriating lease revenues from Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling.

Watershed Planning: Senate Bill 524 (Erickson-R-Delaware) promoting watershed-based stormwater management planning and providing a mechanism for funding remediation measures.

Waste Penalties/Permits: Senate Bill 546 (Rafferty-R-Montgomery) increasing penalties for violations under the Solid Waste Management Act and Senate Bill 547 (Rafferty) adding provisions on prohibiting anyone with prior violations from getting permits under the Solid Waste Management Act.

Weatherization Account: Senate Bill 564 (Williams-D-Philadelphia) providing for a Home Energy Assistance Reserve Account to fund weatherization projects.
