World Water Day Event On March 15 In New Hope Helps, Teaches And Entertains
On World Water Day, March 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the Environmental Club of New Hope-Solebury High School and The Jonathan D. Krist Foundation will present "Know H2o: Water Heroes on Tour," a multimedia event addressing the issues threatening local watersheds and water supplies throughout the world.

Problems with drinking water supplies are not just occurring in the developing world, but also in watersheds in the Philadelphia and Bucks County areas.

Benefiting PlayPumps International, a non-profit that builds wells in Africa, the event features speakers, documentary film showings and live musical performances, including one by the Bonnie Brae Knights, who performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration.

In addition to seeing live music and dance performances, participants at the Know H2o-Water Heroes on Tour event can:

-- Take part in bottled water versus tap water taste tests;

-- Speak to representatives from the Aquetong Watershed Association and the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority;

-- Watch documentary films, including FLOW, Liquid Assets and the Delaware Riverkeeper-produced Remember the River; and

-- Purchase copies of FLOW, as well as stainless steel reusable water bottles and Riverkeeper macrame bracelets.

There is a $5 minimum ticket charge for the event, which will take place at the Steven J. Buck Auditorium at New Hope-Solebury High School.

The Jonathan D. Krist Foundation was established to honor the memory and continue the charitable deeds of Jonathan Krist, a young musician and student activist who raised funds for PlayPumps International and other causes.
