Friends of the Wissahickon Offer Free Lecture On Green Stormwater Design March 24
Glen J. Abrams of the Philadelphia Water Department will speak on “Green Stormwater Design: Putting Nature Back into the City” on March 24 at the Friends of the Wissahickon office in Chestnut Hill, Pa.
 
Glen Abrams is Sustainable Stormwater Program Manager for the Philadelphia Water Department Office of Watersheds. He provides technical assistance to City departments, community groups, and regional agencies to develop watershed preservation and restoration initiatives. Mr. Abrams leads a team that is implementing innovative stormwater management demonstration projects in Philadelphia.
 
The lecture is offered as part of the Wissahickon Lecture Series sponsored by FOW and the Wissahickon Environmental Center. The goal of the series is to stimulate public interest in the importance of preserving the natural beauty and wildness of the Wissahickon Valley.
 
The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. at FOW’s office at 8708 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill.
