Protecting Public Drinking Water: Source Water Protection Workshop April 8

The Water Resources Education Network and other partners will hold a workshop on April 8 at Susquehanna University on Protecting Public Drinking Water: Source Water Protection Solutions.

The free, half day seminar will explore how communities can assess and protect the areas surrounding their drinking water sources, how to facilitate better local decision making on land use and open space preservation and how to involve the public in contamination prevention efforts.

Information on the Department of Environmental Protection's Source Water ProtectionTechnical Assistance Program will also be presented.
 
The workshop is funded by DEP, and presented by the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania WREN Project, The Susquehanna River Basin Commission, Pennsylvania Rural Water Association, AWWA PA Section, The Borough of Selinsgrove, Penn Township Municipal Authority, Susquehanna University, and the Snyder Conservation District.
 
DEP approved this workshop for 3.5 Contact Hours for water operators through PRWA if eligible.
