HVAC, Home Contractor Training For Keystone HELP Energy Conservation, Rebate Program
|
The newly-expanded Keystone HELP energy conservation loan and rebate program requires the use of approved contractors to install qualifying Energy Star HVAC and other energy conservation measures funded through the program.
If you are a contractor the upcoming PA Home Energy Conference 2009 on March 18-19 in State College will give you an opportunity to learn about this new program and receive the training needed to become an approved contractor.
Refresher training is also available online for those contractors already approved. (See separate story)
Interest in green building technology and energy efficiency is at an all time high. The PA Home Energy program connects consumers with energy consultants and qualified service providers who rate the construction of new homes, or make energy improvements to existing homes. At the heart of the program is Energy Star, a powerful and widely recognized national brand.
Attendees can become an expert in diagnosing and improving a home’s energy efficiency, air quality, and comfort - with bigger jobs and higher profits; meet successful contractors, builders, and raters who have transformed their businesses using the Home Performance with Energy Star and Energy Star Qualified Homes programs; see diagnostic tools in action and talk with product vendors who can help you solve problems for your customers; and find resources to help with marketing and sales.
Contractor Training
This conference will bring together state and federal residential energy efficiency experts and the emerging workforce in Pennsylvania, which are seeking to serve the growing demand for this residential service.
Home Performance 101 “The House as a System” will be held March 19 at the same location as the Conference to offer contractors training in this area.
Also on the horizon are Pennsylvania’s new energy conservation and energy efficiency legislation that will provide plenty of opportunities for home performance businesses and contractors. The state will offer consumers low-interest loans and rebates to stimulate homeowners to make energy efficiency improvements in their homes.
The program will be administered by the Keystone Home Energy Loan Program (Keystone HELP). This program will require contractors that seek to offer preferred state financing to attend a one day training workshop that is focused on whole house performance. The first one in the state will be part of the PA Home Energy Conference.
