Protecting Public Drinking Water: Source Water Protection Workshop April 22

The Water Resources Education Network and other partners will hold a workshop on April 22 at the Borough of Charlerol in Allegheny County on Protecting Public Drinking Water:Source Water Protection Solutions.
 
The free, half day seminar will explore how communities can assess and protect the areas surrounding their drinking water sources, how to facilitate better local decision making on land use and open space preservation and how to involve the public in contamination prevention efforts.
 
Information on the Department of Environmental Protection's Source Water Protection Technical Assistance Program will also be presented.
 
The workshop is funded by DEP, and presented by the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania WREN Project, Pennsylvania Rural Water Association, AWWA PA Section, Penn State Cooperative Extension, River alert Information Network, the Local Government Academy and the Washington County Conservation District.
 
DEP approved this workshop for 3.5 Contact Hours for water operators through PRWA if eligible.
