NRCS Calls for Proposals and Comments for Agriculture, Forestland Conservation Program
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is requesting grant proposals from potential partners to enhance conservation outcomes on agricultural and nonindustrial, private forestland through the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative.

Additionally, NRCS is requesting public comment on how CCPI can contribute to energy, climate change, and carbon sequestration efforts.

NRCS has issued a Request for Proposals that calls for submittals by April 23. Comments on the interim final rule for the program, published in the Federal Register on March 10, are due by April 8.

With CCPI, partner entities request dedicated NRCS conservation program assistance for a specific area or resource concern. Once a proposal is approved, eligible farmers and private, non-industrial forestland owners within the scope of the project area may apply to NRCS for financial assistance to plan and install conservation measures.

All funding goes directly to eligible producers in the selected project area.

Proposals can be submitted by state and local governments, producer associations, farmer cooperatives, institutions of higher education, and non-governmental organizations with a history of working cooperatively with producers.

Instructions for submitting project proposals and comments are outlined within the CCPI Federal Register announcement, which can be found online. Additional information can also be found on the Pennsylvania NRCS website.
