These bills of interest were introduced this week--

House

Septic Permit Exception: House Bill 1138 (Solobay-D-Washington) exempting an owner of 100 acres or more from obtaining a permit for individual on-lot septic systems.

Gas Well, Coal Separation: House Bill 1139 (Solobay-D-Washington) deleting the requirement to separate gas wells and a workable coal seam by 1,000 feet.

Gas Well Restoration: House Bill 1155 (George-D-Clearfield) enacting the Surface Owners' Protection Act requiring well drilling to full compensate surface rights owners for any damages caused by well drilling.

Coal Bed Methane: House Bill 1156 (George-D-Clearfield) protecting surface rights owners from damage caused by the extraction of coal bed methane.

State Energy Efficiency: House Bill 1168 (Petri-R-Bucks) requiring state buildings and vehicle fleet to be more energy efficient.

Air Emissions: Senate Bill 721 (Rafferty-R-Montgomery) requiring control of emissions from halogenated solvent cleaning facilities.
