WREN Offers Water Resources Education Grants

The Pennsylvania League of Women Voters Water Resources Education Network (WREN) is now accepting applications for the 2005 round of water resources grants.

Applications are due April 1.

Partnerships of local or regional organizations in Pennsylvania such as watershed associations, civic groups, community water systems, governmental entities (including municipal authorities), and other public interest organizations. All partners must play an active role in the project.

Educational projects that raise awareness about protecting the community’s drinking water source waters and/or preventing nonpoint source pollution in the watershed are eligible. Projects should include local government involvement and encourage behavior change. Grant award: up to $5,000 per project.

Project activities should occur between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006.

Grantees must send at least one member of partnership to June 9-10, 2005 Orientation Meeting to network with other projects and get resources.
