Allegheny Land Trust Gives Away Treasure At Dead Man’s Hollow Preserve Clean Up April 25
As part of PA Cleanways Great American Clean Up, the Allegheny Land Trust, in cooperation with Lincoln Boro and the Mon-Yough Trail Council, is inviting the public to help collect trash on ALT’s Dead Man’s Hollow Conservation Area from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on April 25.
 
Allegheny Land Trust staff will be on site coordinating clean-up activities and a volunteer treasure hunt. Prizes will be hidden throughout the property. Lunch will be provided for volunteers who pre-register before April 23.
 
ALT’s Dead Man’s Hollow Preserve is located in Elizabeth, Liberty and Lincoln communities. The property is accessible from the Yough River Trail and Great Allegheny Passage Trail 1/2 mile downstream from the Boston Bridge. The Wildlife Preserve at Dead Man’s Hollow encompasses 440 acres of highly significant wildlife habitat. The Preserve is the largest privately protected conservation area in Allegheny County.
 
Allegheny Land Trust is celebrating its 16th year protecting land in Allegheny and Washington Counties. Since incorporating in 1993, ALT has protected more than 1,415 acres in 20 municipalities. The mission of Allegheny Land Trust is to help local people save local land that contributes to the scenic, recreational, educational and environmental well being of our communities.
