It's Easy Being Green-- Join The Great Northeast PA Cleanups!
You can still volunteer to join one of the more than twenty organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania that have planned events for the Great NE PA Clean-Up!

Everyone wants to live, work, and play in a clean and green community. Earth Week, April 18 to 25, is a great time to celebrate our environment and communities. Many organizations welcome spring with neighborhood clean-ups, work parties along the river, park beautification projects, roadside clean-ups, and special “green” events.

Join the Great NEPA Clean-Up! Sponsored by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Conservation Alliance and the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority, this series of events for groups and organizations will clean parks, sweep streets, collect recyclables, remove trash from the Lackawanna River, and educate the public about being “green.”

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Conservation Alliance and the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority hope to recruit 500 volunteers for the Great NEPA Clean-Up. Individuals, families, friends, and organizations are encouraged to volunteer to help.

The Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority works with heritage attractions, government, civic, and educational organizations in the region. It encourages collaboration and provides funding for projects that conserve, preserve, and educate the public about the region’s historic, cultural, economic and natural resources. LHVA facilitates the NE PA Conservation Alliance in partnership with the Lackawanna County Conservation District.
