Medical Sharps, County Waste Fee Reported From House Environmental Committee

The House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee this week reported out legislation creating a program to dispose of home-generated medical sharps and a bill authorizing county waste management fees. The bills include:

 

-- House Bill 1069 (Scavello-R-Monroe) authorizing a county waste management fee; and

 

-- House Bill 594 (Siptroth-D-Monroe) requiring DEP to establish a program for the disposal of home-generated medical sharps.

 

Rep. Camille George (D-Clearfield) serves as Majority Chair of the Committee and Rep. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) serves as Minority Chair.
