Calendars

House (June 1): House Resolution 17 (Harper-R-Montgomery) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to review the Growing Greener Program and the Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

Senate (June 1): Senate Bill 45 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) further providing continuing education requirements for Landscape Architects, Senate Bill 617 (Orie-R-Allegheny) authorizing the Heritage Area Program in law, Senate Bill 783 (MJ White-R-Venango) requiring additional reporting on the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund, Senate Bill 829 (MJ White-R-Venango) requirnig a 60-day comment period on the proposed climate change action plan, House Bill 262 (Haluska-D-Cambria) establishing prescribed burning practices, House Bill 263 (Freeman-D-Lehigh) further authorizing agreements to protect the Appalachian Trail.

The following Committees have meetings this week--

House: the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee meets to consider House Bill 984 (Kessler-D-Berks) would limit the roll-back taxes when a landowner leases land enrolled in the program for a wind power generation system, and House Bill 1394 (Houghton-D-Chester) would clarify the status of land leased for exploration of oil and gas, coal bed methane extraction and commercial wind energy production; the Local Government Committee holds an informational meeting on House Bill 1390 (Freeman-D-Lehigh) relating to stormwater and water resources planning; the Consumer Affairs Committee holds a hearing on implementation of Act 129 promoting energy conservation.

Senate: the Appropriations Committee meets to consider Senate Bill 297 (Yaw-R-Bradford) requiring annual reporting of oil and gas well production, Senate Bill 138 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) establish an automotive fuel testing program, Senate Bill 168 (Brubaker-R-Lancaster) authorizing power generation for borough authorities; the Game and Fisheries Committee holds a hearing on Senate Bill 740 (McIlhinney-R-Bucks) which would increasing hunting license fees.

Other: Legislative Budget and Finance Committee meets to release report on Film Product Tax Credit pursuant to House Resolution 824 (Levdansky-D-Allegheny).

Bills Introduced

These bills of interest were introduced this week--

Brownfields: Senate Bill 880 (Wonderling-R-Montgomery) reimbursing developers for certain costs related to brownfield redevelopment.

Recycling Fee: Senate Bill 886 (Musto-D-Luzerne) removes the sunset date on the $2 per ton Recycling Fee.

County Waste Fee: Senate Bill 887 (Costa-D-Allegheny) authorizes counties to impose a per ton recycling and waste management fee.
