Senate/House Bills Moving

The following bills of interest saw movement this week--

Senate

Climate Plan: Senate Bill 829 (MJ White-R-Venango) extending the due date for the Climate Change Action Plan by 60 days to allow for public comment was unanimously passed by the Senate and now goes to the House for action.

Landscape Architects: Senate Bill 45 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) further providing continuing education requirements for Landscape Architects was passed by the Senate and now goes to the House for action.

Heritage Areas: Senate Bill 617 (Orie-R-Allegheny) authorizing the Heritage Area Program in law was referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

House

Guaranteed Energy Savings: House Bill 687 (Dermody-D-Allegheny) expanding the guaranteed energy savings contract provisions to include technology upgrades designed to reduce water and wastewater consumption or operating expenses was reported from the House Appropriations Committee and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Permit Extension: House Bill 1055 (M.O'Brien-D-Philadelphia) provides for a one year extension of any permit or approval issued by or for a municipality under the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act, Clean Streams Law, Sewage Facilities Act, Stormwater Management Act or any ordinance of a municipality is which expires after December 31, 2008 and before January 1, 2011 shall be extended for one full calendar year was reported from the House Appropriations Committee and was referred to the House Urban Affairs Committee.
