Session Schedule Here's the House and Senate session schedule through June 2009-- House June 29, 30 Senate June 29, 30 Calendars House (June 29): House Bill 687 (Dermody-D-Allegheny) expanding the guaranteed energy savings contract provisions to include technology upgrades designed to reduce water and wastewater consumption or operating expenses. Senate (June 29): Senate Bill 235 (Wozniak-D-Cambria) authorizing the use of non-structural flood control alternatives; Senate Bill 880 (Wonderling-R-Montgomery) reimbursing developers for certain brownfields redevelopment costs. Committees Senate: the Urban Affairs and House Committee meets to consider Senate Bill 900 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) relating to eliminating neighborhood blight. Bills Introduced These bills of interest were introduced this week-- Rate Cap Study: House Resolution 366 (Fairchild-R-Mifflin) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study of electric deregulation and rate caps. Host Municipality: House Bill 1768 (Wansacz-D-Luzerne) amending Act 101 to add to the definition of a host municipality. Open Space: House Bill 1772 (Matzie-D-Allegheny) further providing for the preservation of open space, providing for local taxing options and for the exercise of eminent domain. Citizen Suits: House Bill 1782 (Kortz-D-Allegheny) providing for certain defenses in the case of citizen suits involving environmental laws and regulations. State Parks: Senate Bill 974 (D.White-R-Indiana) directing the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to honor leases during periods when State Parks or Forests are closed due to an action of the agency. |
