Waste Transportation Safety Annual Report Shows 32,847 Waste Trucks Licensed In PA
The Department of Environmental Protection this week issued a 2008 annual report on the Waste Transportation Safety Program which licenses waste haulers disposing of waste in Pennsylvania.

The program now licenses 32,847 large trucks over 17,000 pounds to haul waste in the state. DEP collected over $2.7 million in registration fees for those trucks.

The Waste Transportation Safety Program revoked 587 waste hauler authorizations for failure to submit compliance histories, pursuant to the requirements of Act 90.

Sixty-four percent of the total 7,291 waste hauler applications were processed electronically through the Department of Environmental Protection’s GreenPort.
