DCNR: State Parks, Forests To Remain Open During Budget Impasse
|
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced this week State Parks and Forests will remain open and operating during the budget impasse.
Gov. Rendell directed that state employees will work during an impasse and be paid once a budget is final. Visitors can enjoy picnics, swimming, hiking and many other recreational opportunities for the July Fourth holiday weekend. If there is an extended period of time without the ability to spend money on things such as gas for vehicles, utilities and other items, some of the facilities and operations may be impacted, DCNR said.
