The House and Senate return to voting session on July 6. Session Schedule The House has scheduled every day in July as a session day-- House July 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (???) Senate July 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (???) Calendars House (July 6): House Bill 687 (Dermody-D-Allegheny) expanding the guaranteed energy savings contract provisions to include technology upgrades designed to reduce water and wastewater consumption or operating expenses; Senate Bill 54 (Piccola-R-Dauphin) which would establish a permanent easement to protect the Capital Greenbelt trail on the former State Hospital grounds in Harrisburg. Senate (July 6): Senate Bill 900 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) relating to eliminating neighborhood blight; Senate Resolution 142 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study the cost of creating a statewide blighted property database; House Bill 262 (Haluska-D-Cambria) setting standards for prescribed burning practices;House Bill 263 (Freeman-D-Lehigh) providing additional protection for the Appalachian Trail through local zoning ordinances Committees House:the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee has scheduled two meetings, one to consider Senate Bill 84 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) providing for a limitation on cleanup liability for economic development agencies, Senate Bill 297 (Yaw-R-Bradford) requiring annual reporting a oil and gas well production, House Bill 1798 (Eachus-D-Luzerne) adding not-for-profit organizations as an eligible applicant, House Bill 1768 (Wansacz-D-Luzerne) amending Act 101 to expand the definition of host municipality and a second one where there is a strong likelihood House Bill 80 (Vitali-D-Delaware) expanding the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards and authorizing a carbon sequestration network will be considered; the Intergovernmental Affairs Subcommittee on Federal State Relations scheduled two meetings to consider House Resolution 258 (Waters-D-Philadelphia) urging Congress to increase funding for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program. Bills Introduced These bills of interest were introduced this week-- Alternative Energy Credits: House Bill 1791 (George-D-Clearfield) amending the Alternative Energy Portfolio Act relating to alternative energy credit ownership. H2O Program:House Bill 1798 (Eachus-D-Luzerne) adding not-for-profit organizations as an eligible applica nt. The House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee is scheduled to be considered July 7. Solar Tax Credit: House Bill 1819 (Ross-R-Chester) authorizing a tax credit for installation of solar or solar-photovoltaic energy systems. Farm Conservation Plans: House Bill 1823 (Sturla-D-Lancaster) requiring farmers participating in the Clean and Green property tax relief program to have a farm conservation plan. |
