No-till farming practices reduce nutrient and sediment runoff, improve soil health and allow farmers to use less fuel and commercial fertilizer to grow the crops with the same or higher yields.

The survey found 70 percent of soybeans, 57 percent corn, 55 percent of barley, 55 perecent of winter wheat and 22.7 percent of oats were raised using no-till.
