Kettle Creek Watershed Abandoned Mine Drainage Projects Celebration August 25
The Kettle Creek Watershed Association and Trout Unlimited will host a special celebration to kick off two critical abandoned mine reclamation projects in the watershed on August 25 starting at 11:00 a.m.
The projects are the KC204 Mine Pool Stabilization and Swamp Area Passive Treatment System, both of which have recently started. The Association will recognize and thank all of our partners for their commitment to the restoration of the acid mine drainage-impacted lower Kettle Creek watershed and especially several individuals who were key to helping to get these projects underway. The celebration includes a luncheon, followed by a tour of Kettle Creek abandoned mine drainage projects. An electrofishing survey may be included on the tour as well! The Sportsman’s Hotel and Restaurant, Route 120 in Renovo will be the starting point for this special event.
Please RSVP no later than August 14 by contacting Amy Wolfe by sending email to: awolfe@tu.org or call 570-748-4901. Please be sure to mention if you are interested to stay for the project tour. |
