Wildlands Conservancy Publishes 2008 Annual Report

The Wildlands Conservancy, which runs conservation projects along the Lehigh River and in and around Allentown, published its 208 annual report this week.
Environmental education programs reached over 42,200 individuals during 2008, including 15,000 children who attended summer camps, family programs and activities. 23,200 people in schools, parks and attending community events also benefited from programs. Other milestones include: protecting more than 730 acres of open space bringing the total of preserved land to more than 47,000 acres and watershed restoration and acid mine drainage projects advanced in the Saucon Creek, Jordan Creek, Little Lehigh Creek and Monocacy Creek. |
