As the end of summer nears, Aztec Solar Power offers children and those young at heart the opportunity to still enjoy and understand the benefits of the sun at the Totally Terrific Treehouses exhibit in the Tyler Arboretum, Media, Pa.

"Aztec's solar panel donation to the tranquil Treehouse exhibit at Tyler is exactly in line with our constant effort to harvest the power of the sun to provide a cleaner climate for our children's children," said Sharon Altman, CEO of Aztec Solar Power. "We are proud to be part of such a forward-thinking yet reminiscent exhibit."

The 'green' theme is a new twist on the exhibit, which is nearing the end of its second year at Tyler (will run through September 27) and is appropriately housed in the arboretum's centuries-old sanctuary for trees.

Ten different Treehouse dwellings are each transformed into an outdoor classroom where nature is the teacher inviting visitors of all ages to explore ecology and sustainability while interacting, exploring their creativity and having fun -- a popular spot for a camp-outing or a back-to-school field trip.

Aztec Solar Power provided a solar panel to adorn the roof of the Three Little Pigs Go Green exhibit. The traditional straw, stick, and brick abodes are brought into the 21st century with earth-friendly features like a rain barrel, a green roof, and sustainable building materials.

"When we first developed the concept for Totally Terrific Treehouses, we planned it as a temporary exhibit," says Rick Colbert, Executive Director of Tyler Arboretum. "But when visitors began clamoring for the houses to stick around and as more and more people began to demand an organic way of life, we reevaluated our plans. This year, we reinvented our structures with the help of such generous companies as Aztec Solar Power and can promise an even more genuinely green experience."

To further support a cleaner and greener Pennsylvania, Aztec Solar Power has recently been tapped to deliver sustainable solar solutions to more than three-dozen businesses and residents in the Delaware Valley. Additionally, Aztec Solar Power is currently designing four commercial solar farms in the Philadelphia area -- unheard of for a local company.

The solar farms range in megawatts from .5 to 2. The solar panels will allow each farm owner to sell their solar generated electricity back to their communities resulting in the reduction of local energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Aztec is doing their part to address the dire economic and employment landscape across the rest of the state as well. The company is working on the construction of a $10 million dollar manufacturing facility in central Pennsylvania where they will produce solar panels and create over one hundred new jobs.

Although they will maintain their headquarters in King of Prussia, PA, this facility will offer the company a fully-integrated symphony of solar solutions including a solar research center. The company also maintains an office in Phillipsburg, NJ where they host their solar thermal (plumbing) and HVAC operations.
