Environmental Heritage- Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine Hosts The Art Of Mining Sculpture Show Thru September 30
|
The Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine in Ashland, Pa is hosting a sculpture show through the end of September by artist Frank Wysochansky called, "The Art of Mining."
Frank Wysochansky was a man driven to tell the story of coal miners using ink, watercolor, oil, crayon and sculptural forms as he captured the life of the coal miner by documenting the tools and working conditions of the anthracite coal mines of northeastern Pennsylvania, as well as the simple life and modest means of their families. On September 23 at 6:00 p.m. there will be an artist's talk provided by the WYSO Foundation's Trustee and collection Curator Steven Lichak that will include the artist's original paintings, sketches and a fine art print sale. For more information, visit the Frank Wysochansky website. |
