4 Winners Of Growing Greener Anniversary Grants Announced

The Growing Greener 10th Anniversary Program this week announced four winners of $250 Growing Greener Anniversary Grants for submitting stories to a special website highlighting their accomplishments under the program. The winners include- 

--Genessee Headwaters Watershed Association for a story submitted by Jack Fleckenstein, Watershed Specialist, Potter County Conservation District, outlining how the program has helped to improve their watershed. Click here to go to story. 

--Upper Allegheny Watershed Association, Potter and McKean counties, for a story submitted byFrank Weeks, President describing how the Association has taken steps to cleanup its watershed. Click here to go to story. 

--Lititz Run Watershed Alliance for a story submitted by Matthew Kofroth, Watershed Specialist, Lancaster County Conservation District, outlining how the groupused the Growing Greener Program as a catalyst for bigger and brighter ideas throughout their community. Click here to go to story. 

--ClearWater Conservancy for a story submitted by Jennifer Shuey, Executive Director, describing the in-stream restoration work surrounding the former site of theMcCoy-Linn Dam. Click here to go to story. (Photo is from McCoy-Linn Dam restoration project.)

Thanks to the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds and an anonymous benefactor, two $250 grants will be given to the watershed groups with the best article and photo or video each month through December.


October 20 is the next deadline for entries for the second month of the grant program.
