843 Students Learn About the Environment at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center
The ClearWater Conservancy awarded over $6,000 in funding to 10 local schools for Fall 2009 field trips to Millbrook Marsh Nature Center.

Award recipients include: third and fourth graders from Houserville, Easterly Parkway, Park Forest, and Corl Street Elementary Schools in the State College School District, Bellefonte Middle School sixth graders, first graders from Wingate Elementary School in the Bald Eagle School District, Bellefonte Elementary kindergarten students, second graders from Philipsburg Elementary, and students from the State College Friends School and the Nittany Valley Charter School.

Altogether, 843 children will have the opportunity to learn about their local environment through ClearWater's long-standing "Students~Communities~Streams~Connections" program, which pays the $6 per student fee at the Nature Center and the costs of transporting the children to and from the field trip.

Millbrook Marsh Nature Center offers a variety of programs, events, and activities to the community, in addition to leading school groups through educational field trips.

Thanks to the Bellefonte Elks, Sam’s Club, and the Centre County Community Foundation for contributing to the Connections program in this past funding cycle.

If you or your business would like to contribute towards this exceptional program, please send your contributions to ClearWater Conservancy, 2555 North Atherton Street, State College, PA 16803. Please note Connections in the memo line.

For a contribution of $275, you can "adopt" a classroom. Or choose a multiple of $275, and increase the number of students that you can reach in this meaningful way. When you see their faces on these field trips, you know that this is an experience they will remember for a lifetime.
