The Genesee & Wyoming Railroad this week highlighted a number of environmental initiatives that make its operations greener and saves fuel on a new GWI Green webpage.

Among the initiatives are more fuel efficient locomotives and auxiliary power units, the G&W Environmental Assessment Program which formed teams in each of the company's operating regions to identify environmental improvement opportunities and the adoption of a new corporate environmental policy.

G&W is also a member of the U.S. EPA SmartWay Transportation Partnership.
