Controversy Continues Over Huge Cuts To DEP, DCNR Budget

The controversy over the 26 percent cut to the budget of the Department of Environmental Protection and the 18 percent cut to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources continued this week as legislators and the public find out more about what is in the budget adopted by the General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Rendell.

Of particular note were several articles on how the natural gas drilling industry became "tax-exempt" in Pennsylvania as a result of aggressive lobbying activities.
