PA Songbirds Teacher Workshop December 10

The Carbon County Environmental Education Center is hosting a PA Songbirds Teacher Workshop on December 10.
PA Songbirds is an all-encompassing curriculum that utilizes birds as a spark to teach math, science, reading & more. The curriculum is fully integrated into the PDE Standards and is for Grades K - 12. Hands-on, minds-on education has been proven to raise test scores! Subjects include bird biology, ecology, habitat, identifying songbirds, migration, research techniques, & more! You’ll get to see real birds up close & learn natural history. You will receive the curriculum ($15 value) and lots of resource materials. This workshop is open to both formal and non-formal educators. Educators will earn 6.5 Act 48 credits. The cost is $40, which includes lunch and materials. The facilitators will be Carissa Reilly-Longo & Jeannie Carl.
