Explore PA Trails Website: Powered By You!
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has launched a first-of-its-kind website to help people search, view, map and share information on the thousands of miles of trails in Pennsylvania at www.ExplorePAtrails.com.

"ExplorePAtrails.com is an interactive site, where people can find and share information, photos and new discoveries," Acting Secretary John Quigley said. "New trails, and readily available information on existing pathways, always are ranked high when we survey people about outdoor recreation. This new site is our response to those requests."

The site offers a changing "featured" trail, a search option for finding trails, and a calendar of trail-related events.

"This site is ‘powered by you,'" Acting Secretary Quigley said. "We are coordinating this with our many partners in trail and recreational organizations, and asking them to help identify trail locations, upload reviews and share stories about their favorite trails."

On the site, you can find information about hiking; biking; canoe; state park and state forest; rail-trails; cross country ski; equestrian; snowmobile and ATV trails and more.

More than 5,700 miles of Pennsylvania trails have been mapped, and made available for sharing on the website-enough miles of trails to span the distance between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh more than 18 times. That's only a fraction of the total miles open and available to Pennsylvania trail users.
