Schuylkill Workshop On December 7 Highlights Progress, Sets New Priorities
|
The Schuylkill Action Network is holding its annual workshop on December 7 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Reading Area Community College in Reading, Pa.
The purpose of the SAN’s Annual Workshop is to engage its 100-plus member-organizations in cooperative efforts to have clean water throughout the Schuylkill River watershed in southeastern Pennsylvania, and to promote the exchange of new tools, techniques, and ideas for addressing land and water protection. Speakers at the workshop will include: Jon Capacasa, director of the Water Protection Division at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region III and Tom Davidock, Schuylkill watershed coordinator at the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. Since it was created in 2003, the Schuylkill Action Network has helped to reduce water pollution stemming from abandoned mines, agriculture, polluted runoff, and other human causes by implementing on-the-ground improvements and educational programs.
