Adams County Chapter Trout Unlimited Receives National Conservation Award

The Adams County Chapter of Trout Unlimited was recently recognized with the Gold Trout Chapter Award, the highest recognition given to a chapter of Trout Unlimited.

For more than 20 years Adams County volunteers have collaborated with Northern Virginia Chapter members in restoration activities along Conewago Creek.

The efforts of the two chapters improved a once silt-choked trout fishery and at the same time fostered an inter-state cooperative ethic that is especially noteworthy given the fact that Pennsylvania and Virginia do not share a common border.

The Adams Chapter was also honored with the Edward J. Urbas Award by the Pennsylvania Chapter of Trout Unlimited as the state’s best chapter in 2004.
