Marcellus Shale Drilling Wastewater Topic Of Senate Environmental Committee Hearing

The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee will hear from a variety of witnesses on January 27 at its hearing on Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling wastewater issues.
          The witnesses include:
-- John Hines, Deputy Secretary for Water Management, Department of Environmental Protection;
-- Katie Klaber, President, Scott Blauvelt, General Manger for Environment, Health & Safety East Resources Inc., for the Pennsylvania Marcellus Shale Coalition;
-- Erika Staaf, Clean Water Advocate, PennEnvironment;
-- Peter Slack, Government Relations Associate, PA Municipal Authorities Association;
-- David C. Kohl, CWM Environmental; and
-- Paul Hart, Hart Resource Technologies, Inc. & Pennsylvania Brine.
          The hearing will start at 9:00 a.m. in Hearing Room 1, North Office Building. A video of the hearing will be available at the Committee website.
          Sen. Mary Jo White (R-Venango) serves as Majority Chair and Sen. Ray Musto (D-Luzerne) serves as Minority Chair.
