State Makes Several Announcements On Alternative Energy Investments

Gov. Rendell made several announcements this week related to the investment of federal stimulus funding and state funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority in alternative energy and green job training initiatives.
Solar Energy
The Commonwealth receive $9.5 million in federal stimulus funds to support eight solar energy project that will create 149 jobs and generate more than 10 megawatts of generating capacity. Click here for full announcement.
CFA Alternative Energy
$9.2 million in grants and loans were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority approved this week that will create 170 jobs. A list of projects approved is available online.
Green Jobs
Pennsylvania received $6 million in federal stimulus funding to help prepare workers for green jobs in the renewable and sustainable energy sector. Click here for full announcement.
