Calendars

House (February 8):  House Bill 80 (Vitali-D-Delaware) expanding the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards and authorizing a carbon sequestration network; Senate Bill 297 (Yaw-R-Bradford) amending the Oil and Gas Act to require semi-annual well production reporting.

Senate (February 8):  Senate Resolution 215 (Brubaker-R-Lancaster) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study the costs to achieve nutrient reductions from agricultural sources to meet Chesapeake Bay reduction standards.

Committees

House: the Consumer Affairs Committee holds a hearing on the Low Income Energy Assistance Program. 

Senate: the Senate Republic Policy Committee holds a public hearing on the impact of Governor's mid-year budget reductions.

Governor's Budget Address:  Governor presents proposed 2010-11 budget to General Assembly on February 9 starting at 11:30. Watch the Governor's budget address Tuesday live online on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.  The Governor's Office should post the budget documents online on the Budget Office webpage.

Other: the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee Environmental Issues Forum featuring Regupol America on tire recycling; the Joint Legislative Budget and Finance Committee meets to release a report on the feasibility of establishing a statewide blighted property registry.

Garland Lipscomb:  House Resolution 618 (Scavello-R-Monroe) Resolution recognizing the retirement of Garland H. Lipscomp from U.S. NRDC as Pennsylvania State Soil Scientist.
