ClearWater Conservancy Awards Scholarships For Millbrook March Natural Center Students

ClearWater Conservancy awards $5,658 in scholarships for local school children to take a field trip to Millbrook Marsh Nature Center for Spring education programs.
Among the grant recipients are Mountain Top and Port Matilda Elementary 1st graders, Penns Valley 7th graders, Bellefonte Middle School 4th and 6th graders, State College Friends School kindergarten, 1st, and 4th graders, Our Lady of Victory 1st graders, and pre-schoolers from the Park Forest Day Nursery and The Bellefonte Playschool.
Altogether, 634 children will have the opportunity to learn about their local environment through ClearWater's long‐standing "Students~Communities~Streams~Connections" program,
which pays the $6 per student fee at the Nature Center and the costs of transporting the children to and from the field trip.
The hands-on outdoor watershed education at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center is a fun way for kids to learn, and all of the lessons meet the Pennsylvania Standards for Environment & Ecology.
Millbrook Marsh Nature Center offers a variety of programs, events, and activities to the community, in addition to leading school groups through educational field trips.
Special thanks to the State College Evening Rotary Club for their recent donation to the Connections program!
If you, your community group, or your business would like to contribute towards this exceptional program, please send your contributions to: ClearWater Conservancy, 2555 North Atherton Street, State College, PA 16803. Please note Connections in the memo line.
For a contribution of $275, you can "adopt" a classroom. Or choose a multiple of $275, and increase the number of students that you can reach in this meaningful way. When you see their faces on these field trips, you know that this is an experience they will remember for a lifetime.
