The Pocono Northeast Resource Conservation & Development Council has partnered with HeatSpring Learning Institute to offer an Accredited Geothermal Installer Certification Course in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The course is scheduled for April 12 through April 14 in Bloomsburg at the Columbia County Agricultural Center.
This training program is a three day comprehensive course focused on the design and installation of geothermal heating and cooling systems. The course includes an open book exam required to become an IGSHPA Accredited Geothermal Installer.
The course will also include the fundamentals to build a strong foundation in the How’s and Why’s of properly designed and installed geothermal heat pump systems; advanced topics related to selecting, sizing, and designing a ground source heating/cooling system; a directory listing in both International Ground Source Heat Pump Association and the HeatSpring website; reference materials and collectors; a 1-year IGSHPA membership as well as hands-on training in Pipe Fusion.
Attendees will learn to design and install geothermal systems from the author of the new IGSHPA Design and Installation Manual and obtain credentials and manuals needed to be a geothermal installer. On the third day of the course, an open book exam is given to meet the accreditation requirements as a geothermal installer.
This course is also approved for Continuing Education Credits - AIA Approved - 24 HSW LU Hours.
Because the Pocono Northeast Resource Conservation & Development Council is co-sponsoring this course, the organization is providing a discount code as an incentive to promote the proper installation and design of geothermal systems. During the registration process on the HeatSpring Website, use the promo code “pocono.”
