The Environmental Quality Board published notice of proposed changes to Land Recycling Program regulations and proposed regulations implementing the Uniform Environmental Covenants Act.

The Environmental Quality Board meets on March 16 to consider proposed rulemaking setting chloride standards, changing surface mining rules to meet federal requirements, making an unsuitable for surface mining designation and setting final standards for nitrogen oxide emissions from cement kilns and glass melting furnaces.  (agenda)

The Delaware River Basin Commission proposed changes to the schedule of water charges for comment.

Technical Guidance & Permits

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice it is conducting a review of the water quality designations in streams in Lycoming, Potter and Tioga counties and is soliciting information to determine the proper water quality classification.
            The streams include: West Branch Susquehanna River, Cowanesque River in Potter County and Pine Creek, Susquehanna River, Crooked Creek and Cowanesque River in Tioga County.
            Information should be submitted to Tony Shaw, DEP Division of Water Quality Standards, by sending email to:  tshaw@state.pa.us or calling 717-787-9637 by April 5.
